Coleford Conservation Volunteers

Volunteers have been looking after the Butterfly Bank, at Lower Coleford Playing Field, since 2015, working with the Parish Council. In the Autumn of 2022 a formal group was established, to enable the volunteers to bid for grants. We will use these to fund improvements such as planting more native wild flowers. Our aim is to attract more wildlife to the bank, whilst maintaining it as an attractive spot for Colefordians to walk and sit for a while. In the longer term, we hope to carry out or support other conservation projects in the area. Everyone is welcome to our work days.
See the Coleford Conservation Volunteers Facebook page for more details.

Coleford Speedwatch

If you want to see speeding addressed within Coleford, then we need Speedwatch volunteers! The data gained during speedwatch is required to support requests to Somerset Highways for traffic calming schemes, 20mph limit etc.

Speedwatch sessions are arranged on an informal basis and can take as little as half an hour or as long as you like. A short, straightforward online training session needs to be completed before you can volunteer. This is required to ensure that you have the appropriate insurance cover whilst participating.

If you can spare some time to help then please do get in touch.
